What we collect
- Sign-in details: your phone number or email address, or your name, email and photo from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Your profile: your name, nickname, photo and bio, and your gender and date of birth if you choose to add them.
- What you do on beem: who you follow, the messages and gifts you send in chats, your posts, and your streams' titles and statistics. Live video and audio pass through our streaming provider and are not recorded.
- Payments: a record of the coins you buy and spend. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Payout details: if you are a creator, the bank or PayPal details you give us for payouts. These are encrypted when stored.
- Technical information: your IP address and browser for signed-in sessions, and cookies that keep you signed in. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not identify you.
How we use it
To run beem: signing you in, showing your profile and streams, delivering messages and calls, processing purchases and payouts, keeping the community safe (moderation, fraud and abuse prevention), answering support requests, and improving the service. We do not sell your personal information.
What other people can see
Your profile is public: your name, nickname, photo, bio, follower counts and the diamonds you have earned, plus your age and gender if you have added them and not hidden them. Your live streams can be watched by anyone unless they are private one-to-one shows. Your chats are seen only by you and the person you are talking to, and by our team when needed to investigate a report.
Who we share it with
Only with services that help us run beem, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe, to take payments;
- our live video provider, to carry streams and calls;
- Google, if you sign in with Google;
- a text-message provider, to send sign-in codes;
- our hosting and database providers, which store the service's data.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, it closes within 30 days and your profile and posts stop being shown. We keep the closed account's information for 365 days for safety, fraud prevention, payment disputes and legal requests, then delete it permanently from our database. Records we are required by law to keep, such as tax records of payments, may be kept longer.
Your choices
You can change your profile, hide your age and remove your photo at any time from Edit Profile. You can ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, by contacting Customer Support. You can delete your account yourself at beem.show/delete-account.
